Here in my land abound cormorants feeding on the estuary of the many fish they catch under water. Unlike most waterfowl, its feathers are not completely waterproof, so when wet, they increase d Epes allowing them to sink deeper and dive with ease. Once on the ground, spread their wings to dry. Love watching these birds especially when they spread their wings to warm themselves under the sun. I recently discover a big colony right in Lisbon! :-)
Perfect sequence of shots, the last one is breathtaking! I would like to know how to take pictures of birds.I'm always trying and the result is not so good.Maybe I need another camera! :) Thanks for sharing! Léia
We have double-breasted cormorants that breed between the two Great Lakes, Ontario and Erie. But yours look a bit different from the ones we have here.

I enjoy watching these birds drying their wings.
We don't have cormants Joo, but they are beauties. Boom & Gary of the Vermilon River, Canada.
I also love to see them enjoying the sunshine and drying out. A great bird to see.
What a delightful series. We have lots of these birds here in Florida. It's fun to just sit and watch them play in the water.
By the way, the dog in the Colorado photo is our Golden, Haley (or as we call her, Pookie!)...
cormorants are the love/hate birds. But I think they are quite nice. And beautiful in spring.
I like watching the cormorants, they are amazing swimmers. Great shots.
They are beautiful, it's brilliant to be close to him/her.
Hi joo. I see one or two most days happily perched and wing drying if the sun is out!
ITs a great bird to watch---I think they are very intelligent too!
