Beautiful images, Joo! The dark background adds mystery to the scene. I know what it feels like to have a broken camera. When mine was in for repairs, I didn't even want to outside. But you were lucky in being able to borrow one.
All in all you got the job done and brought back great photographs. I agree, not having your regular setup in such an amazing place would be exasperating. I'll tell you though Joo, I don't go anywhere without a camera and so have been accused of being the bird paparazzi and not a true nature lover. I think there is a little truth in that. I stupidly feel the experience is a little less valid if I don't get the picture. I know some photographers that make a point of going into the wild purposely without their rigs to keep themselves centered on nature and not the click-click-click. That might be good therapy!

Hi there - just as I was leaving England I saw one of these birds and it was considered a rare bird.
Today (about 20 years later) its part of the English landscape - global warming anybody?

That's why I always try to take two cameras with me! (Sometimes I forget, though, and that's usually when I find the best photographic opportunities)...
