Thank you for showing us these gorgeous birds. I think I read somewhere that you're supposed to put an "owl" in the entry to your home as it means good luck.

They are my favourite too ! When I can see them, it is always to late to try to take a picture (at night, hard), but I often find their feathers... (like here : http://lunedemaledaumon.blogspot.fr/2012/09/lot-de-consolation.html)

When I was on my way back on my last road trip I cross the path of three of them : the last one was waiting on the middle of the road and I'm still very glad I was able to stop the car in time to not hurt her... We had exchange a long stare, it was so strange... Like a blessing, or something. I had to cut the light and make some noise to make her go away, and it was about time : behind me there were another car going way to fast to be able to avoid her... :/

Last week was OK - but the 16 hours flights were not that much fun!
